Project Overview
The Suame Interchange Project is one of the largest transport infrastructure projects in the Ashanti Region. It is designed to ease traffic congestion at the busy Suame Roundabout and improve connectivity between Kumasi, the northern regions, and neighboring West African countries. The project includes a three-tier interchange, improvements to surrounding roads, and upgrades to the Kumasi Outer Ring Road to enhance traffic flow and road safety.
Project Budget
The project was originally awarded at approximately US$257 million.
In 2026, the Government also announced an additional GH¢3 billion to support the revised three-tier interchange, the Kumasi Outer Ring Road, and associated infrastructure works. This additional allocation supplements the original financing rather than replacing it.
