More than 6,000 applicants have reportedly been disqualified from the ongoing security services recruitment exercise after failing mandatory drug and mental health screening tests, according to Interior Minister Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak.

The Minister explained that the newly introduced screening measures form part of efforts to improve professionalism, discipline, and psychological fitness within Ghana’s security services.

Speaking on the recruitment process, Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak stated that the government is committed to ensuring that only qualified and mentally fit individuals are admitted into the various security institutions.

According to him, the introduction of drug and mental health assessments is aimed at strengthening national security and promoting responsible conduct among personnel.
